The Wombats’ This Modern Glitch iTunes LP was released worldwide on the 13 February. The album, entitled This Modern Glitch, was released in April 2011 as a CD, digital download and also on 7' and 12' vinyl. Here are all of The Wombats songs ranked. The band released their fourth album, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, on 9 February 2018. Their third album, Glitterbug, was released in 2015. To promote the album I commissioned the team at Electric Light Station to create a preview video and they did a superb job. After releasing another EP in 2008 and touring for three years, the band released their second album, This Modern Glitch, in 2011.

Once we’d gathered the full list of content Kate Brighouse designed the LP and I got to work building it. This iTunes LP is loaded with so much content that the biggest challenge was simply making sure it was all available. There are an additional 4 videos from the Acoustic Glitch session and a video for the Afrojack remix of Techno Fan. All 6 music videos, 3 behind the scenes videos, an interview with the band and live footage from the album launch party. The LP is heavily loaded with great video content. 4 Acoustic Glitch songs are also included bringing the total number of audio tracks to 38. Additionally all the b-sides from This Modern Glitch’s six singles are included as well as loads of remixes. The iTunes LP includes the full 10 track album with lyrics to each song. The sentiment is perhaps best expressed on the delirious, revelatory anthem "Techno Fan," in which Murphy, despite the music not being to his taste, screams to the girl who invited him out to the club, "Shut up and move with me, move with me or get out of my face." Similarly, tracks like the driving post-punk disco cut "Tokyo (Vampires and Werewolves)" and deliciously bleak "Jump into the Fog" are grand statements of Pyrrhic, drunken escape from the pressures of modern life, with Murphy crooning on "Tokyo," "Finally! I know what it takes/It takes money and aeroplanes." He pushes the notion further on the brilliantly melodic, ennui-ridden baroque pop ballad "Anti-D," in which Blur's "karaoke songs" from "The Universal" have been replaced by the Wombats' own songs, which are better than "citalopram" and "to be prescribed as freely as any decongestants." The song, like the rest This Modern Glitch, makes the case for the Wombats as both rock stars and fools in their own pop star sitcom.Rounding off the campaign for The Wombats’ latest album we released a deluxe iTunes LP covering everything that was released to accompany ‘This Modern Glitch’.
